BEST BOTOX CERTIFICATION COURSE
After completing all the steps to earn Certification from the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine (AACM), students can officially become certified injectors and use the initials FAACM after their name.
Getting & Maintaining Your American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine Certification
After completing an official American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine (AACM) Course, students can officially be eligible to become certified injectors. If you do earn certification, you will be given the title of Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine (FAACM).
The AACM fosters a culture of continual growth and lifelong education, mandating that injectors uphold their certification. In reciprocation, they offer fellows round-the-clock access to a diverse range of supplementary educational materials, facilitating ongoing learning and development.
Since the AACM believes in lifelong learning and constant improvement, they require their injectors to maintain their certification. In return, they provide a variety of resources to their fellows for 24/7 access to hours of bonus educational materials.
Getting Certified
Getting certification from the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine requires two steps.
Step One: Course Completion
The AACM offers two hands-on courses, completing either course will make you eligible for step 2 of certification.
First, the beginner course is recommended for students entirely new to cosmetic injections. This provides an overview of the relevant facial anatomy, how to prepare the products and injections, and hands-on training for neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Upon full completion of the one-day course, students receive a completion certificate.
The advanced training course is a two-day training that covers the material in the beginner course plus managing patient expectations, the uses of non-dissolvable fillers, and more complex injection techniques. This course is recommended for students who completed the beginner course and want to perform complex injections. This advanced course will teach you novel treatments that are off label. Upon full completion of the one-day course, students receive a completion certificate.
Completion of either course is required to receive certification.
Step Two: Exam
The final step to becoming a certified injector through the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine is to pass a thorough competency examination. There is no additional cost to sit for the test after the course. The exam has a written and oral component. This is offered immediately following the completion of the beginner or advanced course.
Upon successfully passing the exam, students then become certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine. Certified students may use the initials FAACM after their name. Fellowship indicates that the injector has undergone specific and rigorous training as well as met our requirements to become a certified injector. Fellows are also active members of the AACM and failure to maintain certification may result in losing fellowship status.
If a student does not pass the exam, they may retake it for no cost up to four times per year.
